About Roque Luis Transport Service
A tourist taxi run by the person who drives it, based in Cabarete, on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.
What we do
We move people. Airport pick-ups at Puerto Plata, Santiago, Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, Samaná and La Romana; rides between Cabarete, Sosúa and Puerto Plata; day trips to the waterfalls, the beaches and the Colonial Zone; and a driver by the day for whoever needs one. Always in a private vehicle, never shared with strangers, and always at a price agreed before the trip starts.
Why the price is fixed
There are no meters in Dominican taxis. The fare is whatever the driver and the passenger agree, which works fine between neighbours and works badly for a visitor who just got off a plane at eleven at night. So we publish the whole price list, all 57 destinations, and we honour it. Same price at noon and at three in the morning, same price for one passenger and for six, no charge for luggage.
Where we drive
Cabarete is home, and the north coast is the daily route: Sosúa, Puerto Plata, Playa Dorada, Río San Juan, Playa Grande, Gaspar Hernández, Sabaneta de Yásica. Beyond that we cover the whole country, from Montecristi to Punta Cana, and the trip to Las Terrenas and Samaná every whale season.
How to reach us
WhatsApp, at any hour. Not a call centre, not a booking platform that takes a cut and sends whoever is available. You write, a person answers, and that person is the one who shows up.
